It’s been a while! I’m writing to say hello and to share with you about a few events happening this week. This is the 3rd year in a row Dave and I have teamed up to fundraise for Chicago Abortion Fund’s annual Fund-a-Thon! This year, we are part of team Abobo: All Purpose Seasoning, and you can find our individual fundraising page here. CAF “provides financial, logistical, and emotional support to people seeking abortion services in Illinois, across the Midwest, and beyond”. This week (April 22-28) is also a MATCH WEEK, which means each and every donation will be fully matched, up to $50,000! So this is a great time to donate. As part of match week, my amazing friend Hannah and I are sharing a virtual yoga practice. This is free gift for abortion providers, anyone who has had an abortion, and all our donors! A dedicated group of folks including Sky of Rebirth Garments is hosting this virtual accessible dance party, in support of Seraj Aburaida. Seraj and his family are currently living in a tent in Rafah, and all funds raised will be sent to his family for necessities and to secure evacuation to Egypt. Seraj has also been sharing money and food with surrounding neighbors. You can learn more about him and his story on the event page. Along with the dance party, Seraj’s Support Soiree is an online auction, with almost 40 items available to bid on, including art, a massage session, tarot and astrology, homemade baked treats, writing prompts, stickers, books, and more! I have a 60 minute personalized yoga session in the auction, which could be yours :) You can bid in the auction, even if you’re not able to attend the event. This is a way you can send direct support to a family in Palestine, dance with cool people, and bid on a gift for yourself or someone else.
